Legal Services Regulations and Legal Services Compensation Scheme Regulations

Legal Services Regulations effective from 1 October 2025 (these replace the previous Legal Services Regulations that were in effect from 1 June 2023).

Legal Services Compensation Scheme Regulations effective from 9 April 2024 (these replace the previous Probate Compensation Scheme Regulations).

ICAEW works collaboratively with other regulators of legal services where their members practise within ICAEW-licensed firms and vice versa. The protocols for enforcement procedures between the bodies are set out in a Memorandum of Understanding effective June 2017 and updated from March 2019 for GDPR and the addition of ACCA.
